- building things (e.g. a jet engine in my room with my Harbor Freight mini lathe),
- flying airplanes,
- SCUBA diving,
- climbing mountains,
- travelling to remote places: rode the Mauritania Iron Ore train, visited an indigenous community in the Costa Rica forest that had not been visited for 2 years, sailed the North Atlantic for a scientific expedition in Bermuda, Canada and Greenland,
- reading books,
- fixing my cars because I drive a Peugeot and a Chevy,
- learning languages (French: native, English: fluent, Italian: decent but I replaced most of it with Spanish, Chinese: beginner).
